Have a fun weekend!

I am going to be drinking this!
And maybe watching some of this. For your health! Painting by Fay Helfer

Fantasy vacation

A few years ago Kai and I found these framed photos at a Goodwill in Pasadena. They have moved around with us, and now hang above our bed. The mom and long haired boy look so happy on their tropical vacation. I have spent hours and hours trying to figure out where they might be. Somewhere in Mexico, Greece...maybe a tiny island in the Mediterranean? I am saving up, so as soon as I figure it out we can go!

Laina Briedis

I got these three photos for my mom and she loves them. You can see Laina's work on flickr, and in her Etsy shop.

beard fun

A beautiful Vintage Locket from High Horse Vintage.
Kai, focused on the computer while I see how many toothpicks I can stick in his beard.

Viaggio con Anita

Though it doesn't appear to have gotten very good reviews, after seeing this photo, I really want to watch this Goldie Hawn movie from 1979 to find out what's going on with the squishy kitten.

Britt's new painting!

I am so lucky to own one of Britt Hermann's beautiful paintings, the precursor to this painting above which I am totally crazy about!
Here is a print of Vintage Flowers. The original is hanging in our little kitchen and making me happy every day!

two new paintings

Quiet, 24 x 28 inches, acrylic on wood, framed
Sweetheart, 18 x 24 inches, acrylic on wood framed

I could not resist...

Imagine how cute this little top  from Story of Things is going to be as a bathing suit top, paired with some red or navy little shorts!
Maybe something like these, from The Feathered Womb?

san francisco

When I was little I used to have bad dreams about the hills of San Francisco even though I had only visited a few times. Now, living in close proximity I still get the heebie-jeebies every time we drive over, or even walk across them.  I feel like this painting, The Hill by Wayne Thiebaud perfectly captures their severity.

On a less fearful note, I am trying to find the best Japanese restaurant in San Francisco for our fancy fancy Valentine's Day meal...mmm.
