What are you drinking for Cinco de Mayo?

Tequila is my number one favorite hard alcohol, and Herradura has been one of my favorite tequilas for a while now. It is a smooth, easy drinking tequila with the perfect amount of oaky goodness, and affordable as good tequilas go. I like to sip the reposado, or mix it with soda water, mmm. Does anyone have any favorite tequila suggestions? I would love to hear!

I should be painting right now, but am researching tequilas instead, eek.
Happy almost Cinco de Mayo!

Have you tried a B&T? It is my latest tequila discovery and has quickly become a favorite. It is half tequila and half benedictine. It is orangey ;D and a bit sweet but not too much. Mmmm.

And a classic is a Paloma: tequila and grapefruit juice, ideally freshly sweezed.

Yum!

Now you got me thinking of tequila, too. Is it too early to have one?

Have you tried Mezcal?

Ooh, I love the Paloma, and the B&T sounds delicious! You know, I've never tried Mezcal, and I need to. Thanks so much for the awesome tips RR! And no, it is definitely not too early :)

You HAVE to try Mezcal, Clare! Tequila is just a small sample of what Mezcal can be. It is also made with agave, but tequila has to be made only with blue agave in the town of Tequila to be named that. The thing is, there are thousands of different types of agaves, and even better, the same kind of agave tastes different according to the region where it grows. Just like the "terroirs" in wine.
Tequila is a type of Mezcal.
So much to discover!
Mezcal is starting to show at some restaurants around and I cross my fingers it will be more popular soon.
